We had the worst experience of any hotel here. We’re reprimanded for pacifying our son (baby in a stroller) with his musical toy at breakfast ‘cause it would disturb the other guests! Not kid friendly and not proactive in helping parents’. Extremely expensive and highly overrated.
- card machine should be available when ordering from in room dining
- when hotel is “busy” you can’t get through to in room dining easily, this is unacceptable, more staff should be available during busy periods
- check in wasn’t smooth, rooms were given late
- house keeping should have more attention to detail
- staff at breakfast made several mistakes with our orders and some teapots were old, my teapot’s spout was chipped
- rooms should be refurbished as some are worn out

We’ve been lucky to stay in some of the best hotels in the world, Dubai, London, Paris, Como, Rome etc
This hotel? The service was the most exceptional we’ve ever experienced. I didn’t ask for any name of the team because the whole team provided as a service that was second to none.
Fantastic breakfast, fantastic reception, fantastic concierge, fantastic hosting and service throughout all teams, rooms were immaculate. Supported by being in a perfect location for the city.
If I had a hotel, I would recruit this team here. The rest of the worlds hotels should take note, if you want an exceptional solid team representing your hotel, visit here.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Baur au Lac team, especially Viktorija Niemöller from the Banquet dept. and Regula from the Call Center who went above and beyond to assist me with one of their recent events.
