Easily the best thing about the BA lounge at EWR is that it's surprisingly good... once you manage to get into it. It's all-important to know that this lounge is closed for several hours during the middle part of the day, a real nuisance if you arrive very early for an early evening BA or Aer Lingus flight and want to work in it. With hand luggage only and a mobile boarding pass you can get through security in no time, but you then have to loiter outside the lounge until it opens, notionally at 15:00, accompanied by a steady trickle of other passengers making the same discovery. In this respect JFK is a much better option than EWR, certainly for BA departures.
