The port of Vancouver Lookout is at Stanley Seawall path, Vancouver, BC, Canada
The Grotto is famous and its no wonder! It is truly beautiful but every bit as cold as they say. I bought wetsuits for my kids and that helped a lot. String bags with a towel and water shoes are handy because you walk through woods to get to the swimming section. There are places to climb and explore so you want good shoes for the woods. Water shoes help if you’re going to walk into the water but you can just strip down and jump. The water is rough and you need to swim a short distance to explore the caves. I brought two cheap tubes and blew them up there. The kids took breaks holding the tubes and I felt more confident knowing I could swim a tube to someone who needed a breather. There are warning signs at the Grotto with statistics and descriptions about the dangers. Biggest danger: no rescue team is going to be able to get to you quickly enough to help so know your limits! Go as early as you can and choose a weekday.
This place is heaven! There are a couple of routes ending in this MAGICAL place but my preference is to start off at parking lot take the right trail go the longer route walk on the beautiful rocky shore and pass indian head cove to get here. The beauty of the trail makes this place even better. Be careful of the slippery rocks if you want to climb or dive!
Beautiful even on a rainy day!! We took the longer horse lake trail which is part easy and part difficult as you have to walk over rocks along the shoreline. We didn’t new to book in advance because we went in the off season - Mid October. You save six dollars by getting passes at the gate rather than online.
The Grotto was fantastic to visit. The first part of the trail is well groomed and an easy hike to Indian point. This alone is well worth the visit. The short hike from there to the Grotto was much more difficult. The day we went it was drizzling rain a little bit making the rocks very slippery . I recommend taking water shoes for Indian point to be able to really enjoy the water .
Hiking shoes for the rockie terrain beyond that.
One beautiful place to visit so close to anyplace in Southern Ontario.
You must have a parking pass booked beforw you come. Tickets sold out almost a week before. Parking is good for 4 hours. Parking is limited.

The trail is about 30 minutes each way(there are longer trails if you wish ) and you will reach Indian Head Point first. It is much larger than the actual Grotto. It was packed.

If you continue to the grotto the climb is tricky and narrow.

If you swim at Indian Head point it's crowded. Be aware that there are some shallow areas and if the rocks appear orange that is algae. I bring this up as it is slippery. So be careful.
Vista mozzafiato all'interno di Stanley Park.
