Lovely period inn!
Review of Derby Line Village Inn
Pending review
My husband and I were in town for just one evening and we couldn't have been more pleased with our stay at the Derby Line Village Inn. This period inn with its antique furnishings and fixtures was just what we were looking for. (We are also in the hospitality business and welcome guests to our 343 year old antique home, so we appreciate the value of their preservation work!) We stayed in Room 2, with a spacious bathroom and tub/shower, king bed and lovely views overlooking the garden. The bedding was pristine, the bed was exquisite, the room was immaculate and the space was large and comfortable. It was very warm out, but the air conditioning worked great. There is also an electric fireplace for ambiance in the cooler months, and we may go back in the fall to enjoy the beautiful country scenery. The owner, Paula, was just delightful and we loved chatting with her and getting information about the local area. She and her husband, Chef-owner Fritz, take beautiful care of the well-manicured grounds--the flowers were everywhere! The full breakfast was one of the best I've had at an American Bed and Breakfast establishment. Fritz makes homemade Austrian style pastries (apple strudel and cinnamon rolls), also, housemade sausages, eggs, grilled tomato, fresh fruit skewers, juice and delicious coffee. There are no televisions in the rooms, which is fine by me, but the wifi is great so if you need entertainment, just bring a tablet. This was a very reasonably priced inn and I highly recommend it to others.
