I’ve been to Mythos before and I have to say this time I am utterly DISGUSTED with this restaurant. Last Saturday was my mother’s birthday, who happened to beat cancer. Even though she doesn’t like to go out much, she agreed as I convinced her she’d like it. We should have gone elsewhere or stayed home. The guy, who we assume is the manager, sat us down. Then my mother and I just waited, and waited…and waited. Not only that but every single waiter looked straight at us with their air of condescendence walking past us. I didn’t know we were “invisible” to be ignored like that, because as far as I’m concerned, we’re labeled “VISIBLE minorities” for a reason. We sat, being ignored, observing the waiters just standing, talking amongst each other, and catering attentively to the other customers (it was early evening so they were NOT busy). The manager walks by and sees us just sitting there and asks if we’ve been served. I reply curtly that no, they keep on ignoring us. He goes to the front and starts reprimanding the waiters to finally have some goof come in to take our order. At this point the blatant discrimination affected our appetite and my mom was PISSED, and rightfully so. I’m pretty sure had the manager not come by, we’d still be waiting to be served. But that’s not the most blatant thing. It’s one thing to have the waiters begrudgingly serve us (I guess we didn’t have money to pay the damn meal so why bother, correct?), but it’s another things to see them being extremely sweet and cordial to ALL the other tables (coming over several times, offering coat check, making jokes) who happened to be white. I am utterly DISGUSTED. My mom was visibly upset. It was her day and we had to finish the day with this garbage. There was no point of even telling them it was my mother’s birthday with their reprehensible behaviour. Our waiter noticed our discontent and offered a measly baklava on the house at the very end. That doesn’t change the course of the evening. If you are to hire prejudiced Neanderthals as waiters, then so be it. To all people with the slightest melanin in their skin, don’t bother going to Mythos. It’s all good if you go with a group of friends and you’re the “token”. If you happen to go with your family, expect to be treated like a third class citizens, as it bothers them to have surpassed the quota of minorities they allow to enter their establishment. If the owner happens to read this, I suggest some sensitivity training for your Neanderthal uncouth waiters, that is IF you want to be a respectful establishment. No one is forcing you to be a respectable, open-minded and decent establishment. Then, when we left, NOW they decided to notice us and say goodbye. We walked past and did not reply. I’ve lived in Asia, South and North America, and been to Europe so I am used to how people will react to me. I am well experienced to discern situations before calling out discrimination. I think I’ve eaten at enough establishments. THIS takes the cake. I truly hope none of your prejudiced waiters ever experience how they have made us feel last weekend. You may not care how you treat people but the people you have disdain for, they come to your damn establishment for a reason. NEVER again. I don’t need to suggest your restaurant to people anymore. You can can cater to your OWN kind, as you’ve certainly shown us you’re too good for my measly nig*er money. Good day.
Mercato della frutta e della verdura molto caratteristico

Consigliatissimo a pranzo.

Looks very dirty, there is literally a picture of the Backstreet Boys on the door, etc. They serve Filipino staples and have more exotic things like balut available, but with a name and decor like theirs, I don't think I'd ever trust it. Plus, they have rats out back (I used to live in an adjacent building).

BUT GO THERE ON AN UNBEARABLY HOT SUMMER DAY FOR THEIR HALO HALO. It is the best in the province.
